If it's your first time flower gardening, you should accept the fact that the process is going to be a learn-as-you-go kind of thing. Consider starting with an "experimental plot", roughly about twenty to thirty square feet, which will accommodate about 20 to 30 gardening flowers/plants (choose mainly annuals and a few perennials). To start your first garden, you're going to have to roll up your sleeves and get your hands dirty, literally. Keep in mind that starting your garden will be a lot more work than maintaining it. Indeed, you're going to have to spend lots of time tilling new ground and getting rid of long-established weeds to prepare your little bed of beauty.

The growing interest and admiration gardeners have towards nature is the main factor in the increasing trend towards wild flower gardening. Indeed, many gardeners are no longer happy with their artificial gardening designs and they challenge themselves in undertaking the cultivation of a wild flower garden.
If you want to start a wild flower garden, as with all gardens, the first step is to choose a spot. Since what you're looking for in planting wild flowers is a natural look, your best bet is to choose a place that looks semi-natural; along the back of your yard, or in an area that doesn't look carved out against a fence or next to the patio.

A dilemma faced by all gardeners each year is "perennials or annuals?" Technically, a perennial is any plant that grows back for more than two years, without having to re-grow from seed; some perennials can even last for decades. These flowers are important parts of any garden, returning year after year, getting healthier and hardier as the years pass.
Though perennials are initially more expensive than annuals, once planted, they are permanent editions to your garden. In the long run, then, buying perennials may save you money because you won't have to keep running to the store every year to buy new plants.

Flowers have the power to give that decisive final touch to our home and our yards; their natural beauty makes them the perfect finish for every type of dcor, whether classic and austere or fresh and modern.
Flower gardening pots make it possible to grow our favorite flowers indoors, even if the area where we live would make it impossible for them to survive outside. Pots make it possible for us to liven up our interior space, and move flowers around to fit whatever style we feel like assuming at any particular time of the year. We can decorate our pots according to festive occasions and we can make our plants an intimate part of our lives.

The incredible beauty of flowers, their extreme accessibility and the intoxicating "spell" they are able to cast on people, who remain awestruck just by looking at them, have caused flowers to be a main subject in photographic art.

In particular, especially in order to be used in books, magazines or on web pages, flower gardening pictures have become very common.

Before you start your flower gardening in containers, ask yourself a few questions. Are you looking for one large pot in which to plant a variety of mixed flowers or are you thinking of planting individual flowers in many smaller individual containers? Do you want to be able to rearrange your container garden on a whim if you get tired of the same old arrangement? Do you want to throw in some hanging plants instead of just having stationary containers? What is your purpose in undertaking flower gardening in containers? What kind of visual expression are you trying to achieve? Do you want small plants or large ones?

It's a good idea to get yourself on a few catalog mailing lists, or subscribe regularly to a few of the most important flower gardening catalogs; there are a number of catalogs on the Internet, so you can also surf the web and bookmark those catalogs that you particularly like.
Though many catalogs do give general information about flower species and their needs, if you're new at flower gardening, you really should check out a gardening encyclopedia or a general book or website before you do any ordering; don't depend on the flower gardening catalogs to give you all the details and explain gardening terminology (which could make understanding the catalog near impossible).

Your local garden center is an invaluable resource for your gardening needs. You can actually see what you are buying; you can inspect the plants for their health, see what tools feel like when actually holding them.
However, more and more gardeners, novices and veterans alike, are being bitten by the bug of flower catalog gardening. Indeed, flipping through the new catalogs during the winter months (though flower catalogs really arrive all year) is half the fun of having a garden. New issues arrive at your home a good many months before it's time to start planting; obviously, companies are aware of the fact that you need to have time to order seeds and supplies and time for your order to arrive before the growing season.

Whether you're new at flower gardening or have been gardening for years, it's more than likely you're thinking of using or have used bulbs. Many expert gardeners never fail to include bubs in their gardens because of their hardiness, ease of use, and vibrant colors.

Bulbs require very little effort after planting and can be grown easily in the garden setting and in containers.

For hundreds of years scholars have adopted encyclopedias as a way to organize knowledge, to have it always ready for easy future consultations and to pass it on from generation to generation. Originally, the contents of encyclopedias were very general, going from theological notions to culinary recipes. Even though today this type of encyclopedia still exists, more specialist encyclopedias, focused on one main subject, have been launched on the market, to the great delight of customers.
