Before growing vegetables seeding is the first step of the farming or gardening. This is an attempt to give some tips of sowing seeds.

Place and soil

Vegetable seeding methods are different from place to place and soil to soil. Natural things, however, like sun, air, water are required same everywhere. So if there is cold atmosphere place the vegetable containers or pots in full sun so that they will get pooper temperature. Use enough manure or compost before sowing or planting in the autumn season or early spring. So that it will help to feed growing plants. It will also help to develop the soil structure. And prepare soil for the vegetables. Once you prepared soil well, stay away from walking in the field or farm.

If you want to take too much time for sowing or planting, cover the prepared soil with black plastic cover sheet. It will heat the soil and also avoid weeds from growing in the area.

Make small groups or blocks groups to seed or to plant the crops. Sowing in the rows is old method. This method required more space. But modern grouping methods give better result in small spaces. You can also use bed system. They should be 3ft wide and minimum 6 inches height from the ordinary soil. Smaller containers can be used to grow certain vegetables.

Bed System

It is sort of small space or area. It is used to sow seeds. After emerging small plants we transplant them on the other place permanently. The beds should be well organized as mentioned above. Scatter seeds thinly over the prepared place. Then cover the seed with soil just cover the seed.

Distribution

Distribution or broadcasting is one good and important method in the farming. After proper growing of plants transplant them on the other place permanently. Groups or block are useful. Spread seed over the surface and cover with the proper soil. Then they will grow with the crowd. In small area you will get more crops.

Rows

If you have a large place, it is better to use rows system. It is easy to use for seeding and planting. There should not be long distance between the rows. It will capture large area and you will get fewer crops. After enough growth of the plants transplant them on the other place permanently.
